THE SANCTITY OF LIFE OF THE UNBORN BABY CONTINUES TO BE UPHELD IN THE LAND OF SAINT PATRICK.
A possible Referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment cannot be held until 2018 at the earliest, under a compromise reached by the Government yesterday; Alleged News. [1]

Fine Gael and the Independent Alliance secured agreement on how to vote on a Bill, which has been seeking to hold a referendum to remove the equal right to life of the mother and the unborn from the Constitution; Alleged News. [1]
Proposed Bill not to progress

The Citizens' Assembly

PROLIFE OPPOSITION
A veritable storm of opposition from citizens opposed to the Bill preceded the agreement.
The Bill sought to repeal the Eighth Amendment, Ireland's last remaining constitutional protection for unborn children and their mothers.
Family members, friends, people at work, in the streets and in the fields all passed the word on; urge your local TD to strongly oppose the upcoming abortion Bill. [2]
TD's all over the country were flooded by requests from concerned constituents to oppose the then upcoming Bill to repeal the 8th Amendment. [2]
Astounding numbers of people wound in and out of churches and chapels to pray the rosary, make devotional Holy Hours or simply to pray for divine protection over our unborn children, in order that they be saved from the scourge of abortion.
People of Ireland will NEVER accept abortion
The plain and simple truth is that the people of Ireland will never accept abortion, the killing of innocent unborn children.
Our children are our future.
Our babies are our wealth.
Our families are our life.
Our unborn are our hope for a future where every person will be accepted unconditionally for the unique and irreplaceable gift to the world he or she is.
A future where the unborn child will be as safe as Christ was within the womb of His Mother.
