WHAT IS PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTION?
Partial-birth abortion is a procedure in which the abortionist pulls a living baby feet first out of the mother's womb and into the birth canal, except for the baby's head, which the abortionist purposely keeps lodged just inside the cervix [the opening of the womb].
The abortionist then punctures the base of a baby's skull with a surgical instrument, such as a long surgical scissors or a pointed hollow metal tube called a trocar.
The abortionist then inserts a tube called a catheter into the wound in the base of baby's skull and removes the baby's brain with a powerful suction machine.
The baby's skull then collapses, and the abortionist completes the delivery of the now dead baby. [1]
WHAT ARE SURGICAL SCISSORS?
Surgical scissors are sharp edged scissors with cutting blades.
WHAT IS A TROCAR?
A trocar is a surgical instrument, with a three-sided cutting point enclosed in a tube.
WHAT IS A SUCTION CATHETER?
A suction catheter is a long, flexible tube with one end connected to a suction container [suction canister] and a device which generates a strong suction. The other end [which has an opening into the suction catheter tubing] is inserted into the area for suctioning. The strong suction works on a vacuum principle, and literally sucks out the contents from the area being suctioned.
