THE SHOCKING TRUTH IS THAT
SLAVERY STILL EXISTS.
Children are sold into slavery as manual laborers; as sexual slaves. International Justice Mission works with local bodies to end slavery. Why not join and help?

Reality of Slavery
It is easy to purchase a chocolate, and not think that a child slave may be behind the product, Alleged News. [1]
Touch a brick on your new house, and you may not realise if a slave helped lay it; or whole families forced to endure 18-hours of back-breaking labour, Alleged News. [2], [3] and [4]

THERE IS HOPE
Sunday, 18th October 2015, was celebrated as Anti-Slavery Day. It was a time to look at modern slavery.
4 billion people are living outside the protection of the law; 36 million people are trapped in modern-day slavery, 2 million children are being exploited in the commercial sex industry.
HOWEVER; THERE IS GREAT HOPE IN THE BATTLE AGAINST THIS ULTIMATE INJUSTICE AGAINST THE POOREST OF THE POOR AND THE MOST VULNERABLE ON THIS EARTH.
In the 13 countries where IJM works, investigators, social workers, judges, prosecutors and lawyers are fighting tirelessly against the waves of violence devastating the poor.
THE RESULTS ARE REMARKABLE
In Cebu, the Philippines, four years of intensive partnership with local authorities led to the number of minors available for sexual exploitation dropping by 79%. [9]
A recent study showed the prevalence of minors in the three largest commercial sex markets in Cambodia - Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville - has also dropped significantly. [9]
Earlier this year, IJM successfully trained its 5,000th official in Mumbai, where rescue operations of trafficked women are becoming increasingly effective and sensitive to survivors' needs. [9]
WHY NOT JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST SLAVERY?
There is a growing movement of people worldwide working against human slavery. Why not join?
Business and community leaders, students, church leaders and professionals from all walks of life are joining hands together and forming a powerful force against the evil of human slavery.
We need to use our education and skills, our life position and personal influence, to assist in this work against injustice.
Traffickers, slave-owners and perpetrators of violence thrive in a climate of ignorance of slavery; indifference to the plight of others; and short attention spans to the plight of the poor and vulnerable in society.
HOWEVER; we know what is being done in the field of slavery. We are most certainly not indifferent. And our attention span is for the long haul; we are in this work for life.
CHIEF JUDGE JOHN PASCOE
Chief Judge John Pascoe spoke of a girl he had met recently in a shelter in Cambodia.
She had run away several times from a brothel where she was being abused; and ended up being blinded so she could not do it again, Alleged News.
Raped, abused; and then blinded.
This girl asked the Judge; 'Who cares about me? Who's going to give me justice?' [9]
EVERY HUMAN BEING
Every human being is precious.
Whether an infant in arms, a toddler around the skirts, a youth unprotected on the streets, a teenager, young adult, middle ager or senior; we are all precious and irreplaceable.
Let us join hands together over the globe and BRING HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SLAVERY TO AN END.
