LANDSLIDE DEVASTATION OF CHILDREN'S ORPHANAGE AND SHELTER WAS REPORTED BY LUMIERE ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd 2015.
Today we are delighted to report that due to benefactions from Lumiere Charity Benefactors, and co-sponsorship, more than 177 boys and girls - together with dedicated monks and staff - are benefiting from a newly built kitchen in Sanghamitta Seba Sangha, Bangladesh.
THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE . . .
FROM THIS;

TO THIS!

In September 2015, Sanghamitta Seba Sangha, Children's Orphanage and Shelter in Bangladesh, was devastated by a landslide after a deluge of rain. The Orphanage continuously assists more than 177 boys and girls.

Lumiere Charity benefactions and co-sponsorship have assisted the reconstruction of the Cemi Puca Kitchen in the Orphanage.

Happy Opening Day!
From the purchase of building necessities, through the labour intensive rebuilding, the painting and final stages to the happy opening day of the new kitchen, Lumiere Charity has been privileged to co-sponsor with TOUCH Ireland, benefaction of the dedicated work of Director Paimong and the Directors of Sanghamitta.

The children have a proper kitchen again.
But there are many further needs.
The children need ongoing care, food, medical costs, education costs, transport, clothing.

Orphanage and Rural School Programme
The Kitchen Project is finished. Lumiere now wishes to assist Chief Patron Wee Su Dha Mohothero and Director Paimong Marma with their new Orphanage and Rural School Programme  helping impoverished children
in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.

Plantations, Dam and Fish Lake Planned
Sanghamitta also plans to implement small, easy to manage income generating projects;

Rubber Plantations
  • A Dam - a strong wall to be built across the river in order to dam the water and make a lake
  • To inaugurate Fish Farming in the lake

Director Paimong Marma has apprised that rubber plantations to provide natural rubber would be an important and income-generating crop.
The climate and environment of Bangladesh
is very suitable for fish farming.
Fish in in great demand in Bangladesh,
so there would be a ready market
for the sale of fish.
Both projects would also form
 sources of employment.

Perhaps Divine Providence has led you
to read these words - in the spirit of
Lumiere, is there anything
you can do to help?
