The Lepanto investigative report gives conclusive evidence to the fact that CRS stored and dispensed 2.25 million units of contraceptives, including abortifacient contraceptives, in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Alleged News. [2]
The US Bishops' international relief agency was an implementing partner from 2006 to 2010 in the US-funded project, AXxes, in which 'family planning' was a 'key objective' , delivering contraception, including abortifacients, Intra Uterine Devices [IUD's] and related insertion kits, and also surgical sterilization kits, according to the program documents: Alleged News. Critics calling for CRS Reform are succeeding
Critics calling for CRS Reform are succeeding, according to CRS' President; Alleged News.
Oklahoma City Archbishop Paul Coakley pointed out in a letter to the US Bishops that numerous US Priests have refused to take part in CRS programs as a result of reports by the Lepanto Institute on the Bishops' relief agency: Alleged News. [4]
"I would also like to note that we have heard of a number of pastors across the country refusing to participate in CRS programs, including CRS Rice Bowl, because of Lepanto reports," Archbishop Coakley stated in his letter, "This means that Michael Hichborn and his Lepanto Institute are prevailing," Alleged News. Speaking on behalf of the CRS Board of Directors, Archbishop Coakley told the nation's Bishops to persuade their priests to disregard the contents of the latest Lepanto Institute report and continue to support the CRS, Alleged News. [4]
