Catholic Hospitals in Ireland are taking a strong stand against government proposal that would force them to abort unborn babies, Alleged News. [2]
Ireland voted to repeal its Eighth Amendment in May, removing protection for unborn babies from the Irish Constitution.

'The Code of Ethical Standards for Healthcare' was given to the Irish government earlier this month, when it met with representatives of the Bishops' Conference. The Code of Healthcare Ethics restates that Catholic hospitals cannot perform direct abortions. [5]
The Code applies up to 20 hospitals connected to religious orders.
