BRITAIN: MP MARIA CAULFIELD DEFENDS SANCTITY OF UNBORN LIFE IN PARLIAMENT; ALLEGED NEWS

BRITAIN: MP MARIA CAULFIELD COURAGEOUSLY DEFENDED UNBORN CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE MOTHERS DURING A DEBATE IN PARLIAMENT THAT SOUGHT TO COMPLETELY DECIMINALISE ABORTION; ALLEGED NEWS. [1]
Maria Colette Caulfield is a British Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom; Alleged News. [2]
MP Caulfield was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Lewes constituency in 2015; Alleged News. [2]

Reproductive Health (Access to Terminations) bill
On 13th March 2017, Labour MP Diana Johnson brought forward her Reproductive Health (Access to Termination) bill, which sought to remove abortion from criminal law, thereby allowing abortion up to birth and for any reason; Alleged News. [1]
The bill narrowly passed its first reading, but reportedly has little chance of becoming law; Alleged News. [1]

Abortion industry
MP Diana Johnson argued that the 'Victorian' abortion laws needed to be updated, especially in light of growing availability of abortion pills online; Alleged News. [1]

MP Caulfield began her rebuttal by dismissing the "progressive" credentials of the bill, declaring it would be a "charter for unsafe abortion practices", Alleged News. [1]

MP Caulfield attacked the backers of the bill, which included abortion provider BPAS; Alleged News. [1]
"That brings me to the current state of the abortion industry in the UK. I am amazed that the Bill's backers, including private abortion providers, have the gall to propose these changes, which would remove regulations at a time when the UK abortion industry is knee-deep in revelations of unethical, unsafe and unprofessional practices," she said, describing in detail the recent revelations of breaches in safety, especially as found by the CQC report into Marie Stopes; Alleged News. [1]
"No wonder these abortion providers are calling for a Bill that would get rid of the regulations and safeguards in the Abortion Act," Alleged News. [1]

Women vulnerable to abuse
MP Caulfield further challenged the idea that the increasing availability of abortion pills means there should be less regulation; Alleged News. [1]
She made the point that abusive partners would find it easier to force women into an abortion if they could easily obtain pills online; Alleged News.[1]
Women would also be left more vulnerable to abuse by the removal of the requirement that they be seen by a qualified doctor [something 92% of British women support]; Alleged News. [1]

MP Caulfield said the bill "would exacerbate the dangers posed by increased availability of abortion pills and it would remove some of the few protections and regulations in abortion law, fuelling unethical and unsafe practices in many UK abortion clinics and leaving women less safe and less informed", Alleged News. [1]

We will not be silenced
MP Caulfield spoke about "the unborn child" and talked about how decriminilization would be particularly dangerous for those babies at risk of being aborted for their gender or disability; Alleged News. [1]
The law, she said, must reflect a "fuller and richer understanding of human dignity and equality . . . which does not treat children as commodities and which does not treat marginalized people such as young girls or children with Down's syndrome as burdens or inconveniences", Alleged News. [1]

"Too often today, debates about abortion - about the risks involved and the rights of the unborn child - are shut down; but I, and many colleagues who share my views, will not be silenced as we seek to be a voice for the voiceless, and as we argue for more modern and humane abortion law that upholds not only the dignity and rights of women but the dignity and rights of the unborn child", Alleged News. [1]

Bill passed first reading
The bill passed its first reading by 172 votes to 142; Alleged News.
Hoever, as SPUC's political officer Katherine Hampton explained, it has no chance of becoming law as things stand; Alleged News. [1]

WHAT IS PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTION?
Partial-birth abortion is a procedure in which the abortionist pulls a living baby feet first out of the mother's womb and into the birth canal, except for the baby's head, which the abortionist purposely keeps lodged just inside the cervix [the opening of the womb].
The abortionist then punctures the base of a baby's skull with a surgical instrument, such as a long surgical scissors or a pointed hollow metal tube called a trocar.
The abortionist then inserts a tube called a catheter into the wound in the base of baby's skull and removes the baby's brain with a powerful suction machine.
The baby's skull then collapses, and the abortionist completes the delivery of the now dead baby. [3] and [4]

Marie Stopes UK
In the UK, Marie Stopes International has recently been queried by the Care Quality Commissions after inspectors found a catalogue of practices in English Clinics, Alleged News. [5]

Marie Stopes Abortion Clinics
The 2,600 safety flaws at Marie Stopes abortion clinics included the following in the Care Quality Commission report, Alleged News. [6]

  • Doctors were going home for the day leaving sedated women in the hands of nurses and healthcare assistants; almost half of nurses had not been trained to do resuscitation; Alleged News [6]
  • Some vulnerable women did not understand the full consequences of what they were about to do; Alleged News [6]
  • Safety incidents including medical blunders and equipment failures had increased by a third in a year; Alleged News [6]
  • Doctors were signing off up to 60 consent forms at a time when they were meant to be making a thorough assessment; One filled in up to 26 in two minutes; Alleged News [6]
  • Foetal remains were dumped in ordinary medical waste bins rather than sealed for cremation, Alleged News [6]
The CQC was particularly concerned about safety and lack of training, warning patients were not protected from avoidable harm, Alleged News. [6]

Inspectors visited 12 clinics between April and August 2016 and the initial findings were so alarming that Marie Stopes agreed to temporarily halt some abortions; Alleged News. [6]

Dismay in Africa
Culture of Life Africa has produced a video focusing on Marie Stopes International's operations in Africa; Alleged News. [5]

The video 'Killing Africa' presented by Ms Obianuju [Uju] Ekeocha includes an interview with a former worker of a Marie Stopes International [MSI] abortion clinic in Uganda, who claims that illegal abortions were carried out by medical assistants [not doctors] and that foetal remains were flushed down the toilet: Alleged News. [5]

Taxpayer money for abortions Africa, Alleged News
The video highlights how the funding given to Marie Stopes International is being spent, Alleged News. [5]
MSI receives about 250 million pounds a year from donor partners, including 46.3 million pounds from the UK's Department for International Development [DFID], Alleged News. [5]

Professor David Payton explains how DFID spends millions of pounds of taxpayers money on 'reproductive health' programmes and population control including the funding of MSI's activities in Africa; Alleged News. [5]

3.3 million abortions annually
According to Culture of Life Africa, MSI performs 3.3 million abortions and abortion related services every year, Alleged News. [5]
