CALL TO ALL PRIESTS DURING CORONAVIRUS

Jesus Christ, Light of the world

AS PRIESTS CONTINUE IN LOCKDOWN,
WHAT CAN WE DO?

1. Celebrate the Eucharist for those suffering from Coronavirus, for the repose of the soul of those who have died, offer prayer for carers, families and friends
2. Pray to Almighty God for an end to this heavy cross which weighs over the world
3. Minister through social media. Many sufferers and those affected by Coronavirus are reaching out for pastoral help. Ministry is possible through platforms such as Twitter and blog posts
4. Offer podcasts, blog posts, prayer chapels through your church's social media
5. If you do not have an online church, why not start one now. It's very easy. Enrol on a blogging platform, give your church a name, and begin ministry
6. How can you minister? Each priest has a unique ministry. Come before the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer, and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. You will receive your personal guidace. Remember, too, that the guidance you receive during one chapter of your life may not be the same guidance you receive during another chapter of your life. Holiness as a priest entails being able to listen, and follow, the guidance of the Holy Spirit
7. Prayer: Pray before the Blessed Sacrament. Or pray through online prayer chapels. Pray the Rosary. Pray through all-night prayer vigils, if you health, strength and circumstances allow this. Or pray a Holy Hour
8. Be gentle and non-judgemental in your ministry. We are called to be the signpost leading towards God, the all-merciful and loving as well as just. Let us be worthy of this call
