MOTHER AND CHILD; GOOD HEALTH LESSON 24
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILD

HEALTHY CHILD
A healthy child grows steadily and well. During the first years of the child's life it is essential to protect a child's health by giving enough nutritious food, by following the guidelines of cleanliness, and by monitoring the child's progress at your local Health Clinic.

It is important that your child be regularly checked by your Doctor, Clinic Nurse and Dentist as needed. Protective Vaccinations are needed by your child to prevent diseases. 

VACCINATIONS
Vaccinations protect children against many of the most dangerous diseases of childhood. These vaccinations should be given while the child is healthy. Vaccinations should be given as advised by your Doctor.
At Birth BCG tuberculosis vaccine is due
[BCG stands for Bacille Calmette-Guerin (TB - Tuberculosis Vaccine)] 

At 2 months of age, the 6 in 1 + PCV Vaccination is due
[6 in 1 means - Diphtheria, Haemophilus influenza B (Hib), Hepatitis B, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Polio and Tetanus vaccine]
[PCV means Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine]

At 4 months of age, the 6 in 1 and Men C is due
Men C means Meningococcal C vaccine]

At 6 months of age, the 6 in 1, PCV and Men C is due

At 12 months of age, the MMR and PCV is due
[MMR stands for Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccine]

At 13 months of age, the Men C and Hib is due

Parents should always have a record of their children's vaccinations so that they can be checked from time to time. 
This is often also called the Immunization Passport
