All-Night Vigil at Dail Eireann
Last night at 8 pm People from Ireland came from all corners of the Land to pray at Dail Eireann.
The All-Night Prayer Vigil began on Tuesday 9th and carried on throughout the night until Wednesday 10th July 2013 .
At 8 pm last night, Welcome was extended to all the Protesters against the proposed Abortion Legislation for Ireland.
The praying of the Rosary for the Unborn followed thereafter .
Spiritual Warfare Prayers and Intercessory Prayers were held.
At 12 midnight The Angelus was prayed, the universal prayer remembering Jesus' Incarnation within the womb of Mary.
Every hour upon the hour
Every hour upon the hour people milled back and forth to pack the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Bachelor's Walk next to the River Liffey.
They prayed and beseeched God to keep sacred and safe the life of the Unborn Child in Ireland.
Multitudes came to pray and worship in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The atmosphere at the Chapel was one of dignity and quiet.
Prayer Walk around the Dail
After Midnight Angelus there was a Prayer Walk around the Dail.
At 3 am the Divine Mercy Chaplet was prayed.
At 10 am this morning, Concluding Prayers were conducted.
People streamed in from as far afield as America and Brazil to come to the Vigil at the Dail.
Representatives were there from Donegal, Co Meath, Co Mayo, Dublin, Co Armagh, Carrickmacross, Clonakilty, Navan, Scotland, Co Derry, Brazil, Belfast, Poland, Dundalk, Scotland, America.
According to the Protesters, representatives from other areas were also present.
Flame of candles
The gracious architecture of Dail Eireann stood serenely in the evening gloaming and Protesters started praying and singing in support of the Life of the Unborn Chld.
Eventually the evening wore on, and the first streetlights began to glimmer.
After reverent prayer, candles began to be lit.
A flame of candles illuminated Dail Eireann as candles were lit from each person to the next.
Posters and placards
People demonstrated with Posters and placards supporting the Life of the Unborn Child.
Some showed the tragedy of Abortion.
Cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles beeped for Life.
Passersby gave their support to the Protesters.
Unto us a Child is Born
Many Protesters drew inspiration from the Statement,
"A Time To Uphold the Right to Life; Statement by the Catholic Bishops of Ireland." (1)
The inspiring words of Archbishop Eamon Martin were discussed.
As the Prayer Vigil continued, Prayer invoked the Authority and God's Power,.
The prayers, among others, reminded
"Unto us a Child is born, and the government shall be upon His Shoulders (Isa 9:6)
The Protesters prayed for the country's TD's which a special Prayer adapted from St Patrick's Breastplate.
Thereafter Prayer for our Politicians was recited together, praying for Ireland to be saved from Abortion.
Prayer Vigil moved on to Dundalk
Then on to Dundalk. The beautiful St Patrick's Church in Dundalk, Co Louth in Armagh bells rang out, as people came throughout the day from 2pm and are still at prayer at the time of writing.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament was held.
Quiet, fervent worshippers remembered the Unborn Child and prayed that the Abortion Legislation will be halted.
People rallied from Ireland and Beyond
The People rallied from all over the country and beyond to stand before Dail Eireann and raise their voices in Support of the Unborn Child.
Other countries held All-Night Prayer Vigils
As the Protesters prayed and sang in support of the Unborn Child and against Abortion Legislation, other Countries were also holding Prayer Vigils throughout the night.
Right to Life held sacred in Ireland
Ireland's children and their Right to Life is held as sacred by the People of Ireland.
