Suffering Children and Disadvantaged in Urgent Need of Help

Mud house, walls affected by the rains

New Project Belgaum, India
Lumiere Charity has recently heard of a new Project in Belgaum, India.
The dedicated Priest who has gone out to the suffering people of the area is not only a man of heart and vision, but also an artist.
He is well known for his spiritual and village scene art, as well as works in the Warli tradition.

Needs of the Area
The needs of the Project are heartbreakingly simple to assess.
Father has no land.
There are no schools.
There is no social center.
There is no well.
There is no electricity.
There are many children - orphans, children from struggling single parent families and families in destitute circumstances.
Financial aid is needed in order to reach out to the children to help them.
The children in need are already being reached out to, but adequate funding for truly comprehensive and organised assistance is quite simply not there at present.
Previously Lumiere has had great success with matching sponsors to children in Projects.
A sponsor who wishes to sponsor a specific child in a Project is assisted to do so by Lumiere.
The amount usually sponsored is fifteen euros per month, which is sufficient to assist with shelter, care, education, clothing and medical assistance  of the desperate child.
A regular report on the child's progress is facilitated by Lumiere with the Leader of the Project.
No administration fees are taken.
The donation is given direct, and used directly for the child's monthly shelter, care and educational needs.

The children in the Project
There are many children needing urgent assistance in the area in which this dedicated Priest has begun his work.
One of the children needs financial sponsorship in order to be able to continue studies.
His mom is valiantly trying to bring up her family alone with her unremitting hard work.
If he is to have education and a brighter future, they  need help.
Another two children lost their father, the breadwinner, in an accident when they were four and six years old.
These two heartbroken little ones are being cared for by their mother.
They live in dire poverty, with their mom working to make ends meet without enough money for school fees.
Other children have dedicated and loving parents who are farmers.
Due to the failure of the crops and drought, they need assistance with food, shelter and education.
Yet other children in disadvantaged circumstances have hardworking parents caught in the poverty trap desperately needing someone - anyone - to extend a helping hand.
Another tiny child is in a mud hut which has almost fallen down. His mother is ill, and needs care.
The child urgently needs assistance in this tragic situation.

Where to start
Where to start? Where to begin?
These are most deserving poor and needy children.
Many of the houses in which the people live have a pathos about them, as they are made of mud.
The recent rains which broke the drought have brought the houses to the verge of collapsing.
Yet other people in the area are even worse off, they are homeless and have no income or food after the savage drought which ravaged the land.

In the spirit of Lumiere, is there anything you can do to help?
