LUMIERE ENGLISH ACADEMY; DISTANCE TEACHING COURSE LESSON 10 - VOCABULARY

TO THE TUTOR;
AN EXTENSIVE VOCABULARY IS ESSENTIAL FOR ANY ENGLISH STUDENT.
Make vocabulary lists for your student to both read and learn.
Homework lists can be made for the student.
The student should study the words and write their meanings as part of their homework.
An example is a Vocabulary list drawn from the first three pages of Chapter 1 of JRR Tolkien's classic, 'The Hobbit'.
Students can make use of a dictionary or online dictionary resource such as www.dictionary.com
in order to find out the meanings of the words.

VOCABULARY WORKSHEET;
The word 'vocabulary' is a noun, and means the body of words used in a particular language; in this case, in English.
Learn how to pronounce the word.
Next to each word, write the meaning of the word.
